At times there is nothing left to do. Resources have been depleted. Hope is spent. Every avenue has been explored, every possibility exhausted. Hands fall helpless… and empty. Even the heart that was once filled with praise and thanksgiving aches with questions and fear.
The need is great… but strength is small.
Years ago, an entire nation was surrounded by hostile armies, threatening to wipe them from existence. Their wise king cried out to the Lord for wisdom. As the battle drew near, the people praised God with a song and worshiped.
2 Chronicles 20:22a: “At the very moment they began to sing and give praise…” the Lord fought the battle they had no way to win. Suddenly, what seemed like certain defeat ended in a “Valley of Blessing!”
Whether surrounded by overwhelming odds, or just facing uncertain days, a song of praise to the God Who fights for us is always in season.
“My heart is confident in You O God, my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing Your praises!” –Psalm 57:7
Though hands are empty, I’ll lift them high in praise.
Though strength is small, and voice is weak, please accept my offering of praise.
This battle is Yours dear Lord and therefore also the victory!
I needed that today!

Lynn, God is great and greatly to be praised. Life is hard all around. I see it everyday not only in my own family, but at work. Clients come in all the time with pain and struggle and sometimes you wonder “where is God”.
But GOD IS SOVEREIGN, all the time, in every place, and in every way. He knows what to do. I keep reminding myself of that daily, “God is still sovereign”. Even in my mistakes. Even when the world wins a battle. Even when “evil men advance”. God is in control.
Psalm 27
Of David.
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evil men advance against me
to devour my flesh,
when my enemies and my foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
3 Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.
